NEW YORK(SMIWIRE,02.16.16)Jorge Salinas, a fashion designer from Peru, made a sensation debut at the prestigious New York Fashion Week-New York Fall-Winter-16, exhibiting his latest collection entitled"MARACAS".

Salinas is mostly known for his innovative artistic designs,beautiful colors, rich textures and exquisitely delicate fabrics of the Andean world.This season, inspired by Paracas culture, an andean society which was known for extremely complex & beautiful textiles that existed in Peru between 750 BC & 100 AD, located in the Paracas Penninsula, South Coast of Peru.

Jorge Salinas approached his namesake collection, based on his inspiration of the ancient techniques rooted in the supreme Inca culture, incorporating a mix of fabrics of Peru, Europe and New York.With this multi pronged approach, Salinas introduces a new wave of technology into the avant-garde of today,revitalizing and connecting the modern styles directly to his ancient Peruvian, indigenous past.Layering silk, organza, pleats, and mixing fabrics and textures, expressed in relaxed silhouettes, alpaca leather-trimmed coats, pleated skirts, boldly interwoven alpaca sweaters, long tunics, gaucho pants and dropped shoulders.

The Palette features ivory, brick (burn orange), black and beige hues that represent the dominated of the landscape of the sandy Paracas Peninsula.

The fashion show was a sold-out events and few celebrities from Latin-America were spotted in the front row

of the runway.We spotted Nina Garcia ( Project Runway & TV Personality),Peruvian's Ambassador /

General Consul in New York, and others in Backstage after the show.

J. Salinas: Estoy tranquilo, contento  de esta nueva experiencia en mi carrera,estoy conciente que todo mi trabajo ha sido hecho trayendo muchos colecciones de noveda, contemporal, usable & divertido.

 

Starlight Latino: Como se llama la coleccion y que me puedes decir de ello ?

J. Salinas: La Colecion se llama " Paracas ", Paracas son vientos que se unen y se arman en las

playas,en el mar, es como un fenomeno y aqui de venir a Estados Unidos trayendo los vientos y algo

diferente en los mas alto de mi carrera y exponerla.La cultura Paracas tambiem es una cultura

Inca,muy antigua y sus colores de color ladrillo, Ivory & negro lo representa.
