CM CIA. MARITIMA SNAGS THE LYCRA® CELEBRATES 10 YEARS

MIAMI (SMI-WIRE,17-21) LYCRA® brand, one of the most influential global brands in fiber, together with IMG Fashion and a distinguished panel of judges, named CM Cia. Maritima the winner of the LYCRA® CELEBRATES DESIGN: 10 Years of Swim Award this past Saturday as part of Mercedes Benz-Fashion Week Swim (July 17-21).  

The event, which took place at The Raleigh, commenced under the stars with a cocktail reception on the penthouse terrace. Guests made their way inside for the special presentation by INVISTA, owner of the LYCRA® fiber brand, which unveiled the LYCRA® MOVES YOU™ brand initiative celebrating Comfort, Freedom and Movement.   

Guests then enjoyed a "walk-off" competition with 10 models wearing one chosen look from each of the 10 nominated designers - including CM Cia. Marítima, Gottex, Jantzen, Karla Colletto, Maryan Mehlhorne, Miraclesuit, SHAN, Sauvage, Vitamin A and Vix.

After all the models had made their case on the runway, a distinguished panel of judges from WWD, IMG, Invista, The Miami Herald, and Lucky Magazine crowned CM Cia. Maritima as the winner.  The designer will receive a complimentary show venue at Mercedes-Benz Fashion Week Swim next July 2015, in Miami Beach, plus complimentary fabric with LYCRA® XTRA LIFE™ .

Criteria used to rate the swimsuits, which could be from any of the designers collections over the past 10 years, included innovative use of LYCRA® XTRA LIFE™ fiber in swimsuit design, creative design elements that MOVE the consumer to buy the swimsuit, and technical construction of the swimsuit.
