FLUSHING, NY(SMI-LATIN GLOBAL-SPORTS-MAY 05, 2024)-NYCFC and Colorado collided in a non-conference match this Sunday's afternoon with the Rapids defeating the Boys in Blue 2-0, during a rainy day game and snapping its 5-game unbeaten streak at CitiField in Flushing, NYC.

A tough game for NYCFC from the start who could not find its offensive rhythm during the first half and Colorado scored first at 15' for 1-0, and never looked back the rest of the game.

Forward Kevin Cabral on Rapids' second counter-attack through the right-side field passed a rolling pass to midfielder Cole Bassett who ran inside the 18' and immediately centered a pass to Rafael Navajo who scored with blooping right-footed to the far left-crossbar corner out of the reach of NYCFC's goalkeeper Matt Freese at 15' mark for 1-0, over the Boys in Blue.  


Both teams exchanged counter-attacks without any major danger at either goals
ending the half with Colorado leading 1-0, over NYCFC .

In the second half, NYCFC tried to get some changes on its offensive tactics through the center and side corners but could not penetrate the Rapid's defensive line and find the back of the net the rest of the game.

With the game clock winding down, NYCFC midfielder James Sand in trying to clear the ball out loses the ball to Colorado's midfielder Cole Bassett who gave it to forward Calvin Harris and who immediately passed it back to Bassett who scored with right-footed from inside the penalty area to the opposite goalpost at 86' to sealed the victory of 2-0, for Colorado over the Boys in Blue.
