HARRISON, NJ (SMI-GLOBAL-SPORTS-JULY-31-AUGUST 01, 2024)-The RedBull Leipzig(Germany Bundesliga) scored two goals in the first half to defeat Aston Villa (English Premier League) 2-0, in a friendly match as part of the US Tour 2024, and preparation prior to the start of its new season at RedBulls Arena, in Harrison NJ.
The Red Bulls were led by Andre Silva (17') & Lois Openda(41') while Diego Carlos from Aston Villa was sent off due to major foul against Lois Openda after he scored the 2nd and final goal at 42' minute of the fist half.
RB Leipzig dominated from start to finish in front of 11,000 fans and opened the score at the 17' mark through striker Andre Silva. The goal was originated when Aston Villa's goalkeeper Olsen tried to clear the ball with a short kick but it was intercepted by Doudou Haidara just outside the 18', and ran crossed it to Silva who tapped-in back of the net with a right footed for 1-0, Leipzig over Aston Villa.
With 4' minute remaining in the first half, Leipzig in a counter-attack through
the leftside field, midfielder Kevin Kampl passed the ball to defender El Chadaille who immediately crossed it to Lois Openda who back-healed the ball towards goal bouncing-off goalkeeper Olsen back to Openda who scored with right-foofed for the seconf goal at 41' mark and sealed the 2-0, win over the Aston Villa.
