EAST RUTHERFORD, NJ(SMI-GLOBAL-SPORTS-COPA-AMERICA-USA-2024- JUNE 20-JULY 14, 2024)-World#14, (FIFA) Uruguay had five different players score on its 2nd match of Group C, as "La Celeste" overpower Bolivia 5-0, and becomes the 3rd team to advance to the knockout stage of the tournament @ MetLife Stadium in East Rutherford NJ.
With the win, Uruguay leads Group C, with 6-points in the standings with one game remaining against the USA, to be played on Monday July 01, at Arrowhead Stadium in Kansas City.
The 15-time Copa America champions " Uruguay " looked very solid and well synchronize on the attack from the start and scored two consecutive goals within the first 20' minute of the game to lead 2-0, at the half.
Midfielder Nicolas de la Cruz centered the ball inside the left-side of the 18, from 35-yards away on a free kick, finding Darwin Nunez who crossed it with header to Facundo Pellistri, and who scored with a lower header landing in back of the net for 1-0, Uruguay over Bolivia at 8' mark.
" la Celeste " kept the pressure with continuous counter-attacks until added its 2nd goal at 21' mark, when defender Ronald Araujo on a breakaway through the left-side field passed the ball inside the penalty box to Darwin Nunez who scored with a left-footed to the left-side goalpost to make it 2-0, in favor of Uruguay.
"La Celeste" controlled the midfield during the entire game showing its superiority on the pitch with the support of all its fans that attended and cheer to see them in action.
With " Los Charruas " in front 2-0, & the game clock winding down, Uruguay scored 3-goals within 12' minutes to seal the victory of 5-0, over Bolivia.
Maximiliano Araujo scored the 3rd goal for Uruguay when forward D. Nunez
through the right-side field passed the ball to N. De La Cruz who kicked a perfect rolling pass to Araujo who scored with a right-footed for 3-0, over Bolivia at 77' mark.
Four minute later, Federico Valverde during a counter-attack through the right-side field gave the ball to Facundo Pellistri inside the penalty box and immediately crossed it back to him who scored with a right-footed to the opposite left goalpost for 4-0, Uruguay at 81' mark.
With a minute left in the game, midfielder Giorgian de Arrascaeta on a free kick centered the ball inside the 6-yard box, finding Rodrigo Bentancur who scored with a header to the left goalpost for the 5th goal at 89' mark, and closed-out the rout of 5-0, for Uruguay over Bolivia.
